Dr. Maria Phillips graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 2007. After veterinary school, she completed a surgical internship at NorthWest Surgeons, a specialist surgical facility in England. Dr. Phillips then worked for a large 15 vet hospital where she performed both race horse work, and the small animal specialist surgery, particularly orthopedics. She gained her surgical certificate in 2009, and decided to focus on small animal practice and surgery. Dr. Phillips also spent some time working alongside the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals), for whom she acted as an expert witness in cruelty cases. She has acted as the lead veterinary surgeon for a number of Veterinary hospitals in England, ensuring their medical quality. Dr. Phillips moved to Sarasota in 2012 with her husband and baby girl, Emily. She enjoys Scuba diving and spending time at the beach with her family in her free time!
