Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar


Dr. Mukhtar joined Banfield in October 2016 to pursue his passion of helping pets in Woburn, MA. Then at the start of 2018, he moved back to Orange County, CA to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. Dr. Mukhtar has a master’s degree and PhD in microbiology, as well as a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan. Before joining Banfield, he was a veterinary technician and also worked for Pfizer doing anti-cancer research, and Harvard Medical School doing anti-HIV research. He has lived in 3 different countries and 4 states in the U.S. Dr. Mukhtar believes in preventive care medicine and also has a focused passion for soft tissue surgeries, dentistry and treating complex illnesses. He enjoys playing badminton, spending time with his 2 children and is in the process of finding the perfect 4-legged friend to add to his family.
