Dr. Lissette Leon

Dr. Leon wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 5 years old! She completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She worked in private practice for 8 years before joining Banfield in 2006 and as a traveling surgeon with Banfield for a year and a half before opening the Knightdale location. Dr. Leon enjoys soft tissue surgery and is most passionate about training and mentoring veterinary students and new grads. She has 3 dogs (2 Jack Russells and a terrier mix rescue), a llama, 3 horses, 3 barn cats, and a green cheeked conure (small parrot) named Pixie who she has trained to play basketball, rollerskate, and play a tiny piano! Outside of work, Dr. Leon's horses are her passion and she competes in hunter/jumper events.
