Dr. Chesnut was first introduced to veterinary medicine at a young age, frequently spending time at his neighbor's veterinary clinic in Grand Rapids, MI. After moving to the Chicago suburbs, Dr. Chesnut received his bachelor's degree in animal science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He went on to veterinary school at University of Wisconsin - Madison before returning to Illinois to work in Naperville for 2 years. Dr. Chesnut then worked and lived in Chicago for 3 years before moving back out of the city and joining the Banfield team. He lives with his dog, Marci, and cat, Tony. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, catching up on TV and movies, cooking, and spending time with his pets. Dr. Chesnut believes that the best preventive care allows for more early intervention and overall healthier pets with better quality of lives. Dr. Chesnut is particularly interested in internal medicine and clinical pathology.
