Dr. Reyes graduated from the University of the Philippines in 2009, and after qualifying for the Philippine boards, she moved to the United States. She later worked as a veterinary nurse for a small animal general and emergency practice while studying for her U.S. veterinary license. Dr. Reyes received her Certificate of Qualification from the American Veterinary Medical Association and Mississippi State University. She is also completing a master's in veterinary science from the University of Edinburgh, and expects to complete her dissertation in 2018. Her professional interests include preventive care, zoonoses, immunology, low-stress handling, and soft-tissue surgery. Dr. Reyes and her husband have a 1-year-old boy, 2 rescue dogs, a 7-year-old Rottweiler mix and an 8-year-old Chihuahua. She values quality family time, trips to national parks and museums, and reading historical fiction.
