Dr. Andrea Leiken is originally from Portland, Oregon. She attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington where she ran track and field and cross country. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology in 2012 and after college, she worked in a microbiology lab for Tillamook Creamery. The best perk of the job was the free cheese and ice cream. She then went on to pursue her veterinary degree from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with honors in 2018. Dr. Leiken started with Banfield in July 2018 and enjoys the continuity of seeing the same patients and families in general practice. She lives with her husband and golden retriever puppy in Baltimore. In her free time, she enjoys running, playing on a local soccer league, hiking, snowboarding and her newest hobby, rock climbing. Relaxing at home and watching new shows with her husband on Netflix is a favorite as well.
